This hospital will never be the same, since building the new hospital, all the good care has gone out the window. Instead of doing what their mission statement says they do the complete opposite. They don't care about their employees at all, some people work so hard there and they'll let them go for nothing and keep people around who should have never been on the payroll. The nurses and doctor secretly talk terrible things about their patients, and I would know being a previous employee! The administration doesn't care about the health care being provided, as long as their numbers look good and their pockets are lined! They ruined the warm hometown hospital feel that use to make the old hospital so good. I wouldn't recommend SSM Mount Vernon to anyone! And if you notice, they don't like to respond to the bad reviews, only the good ones! Y'all should be ashamed!
Great care got in quick on the 16th of October and was in and out within a reasonable amount of time.
I couldn't say one negative thing about this hospital! I delivered my second child there on July 21st, which wade one of there busiest days in the birthing department. Even with it being so busy, they would come check on me at least every 30 minutes. Every single staff member there made the delivery process so enjoyable! The anesthesiologist was very kind and answered every question I had. The nurses were so helpful and friendly! Everytime i needed the smallest thing they would get it for me and were so kind. My mid wife (Susan Massey) was AMAZING. She made not only the delivery picture perfect, but the whole pregnancy perfect. She never rushed me out of the office and made sure all my questions were answered. During delivery she talked me through every motion. She was so caring and after birth she came to check on me both days i stayed and came at about 930 am both days. If anyone is looking for a great mid wife, go to Susan massey. You will not be disappointed! All in all, if you are giving birth this is the hospital to go to. The staff is so caring and will make you feel so welcomed.
