I think the library is missing out on helping to educate the people in Posey County, Mt. Vernon. Some of the non-fiction sections are very limited. I've attempted to get interlibrary loans through Alexandrian, but only received 1 of the books I requested. Maybe that's not Alexandrian's fault, but they could have provided more service to let me know they tried their best.

Nice customer service and very big selection of books. It has also just been refurbished.

Great library. Newly remodeled

A suggestion to make this library better is they should expand and encourage reading in the community. Set a goal to read 5 million pages in a month, something like that. Put out signs to get people to come in, the library is on a major street with a lot of traffic. Then they should be more excited / interested when people come in the door. The lady I paid the fine to, was talking with another employee ten feet behind her while dealing with me.

Love this library! Great resource for our community. Conference rooms are so handy for meetings or classes. Nice access for all ages and abilities. Children's area is a favorite for my grandchildren. The local historical section is very valuable for finding family lineage, property history, or grave sites. We use the copier/printer frequently since ours is always out of ink or somehow not functioning when we need it to. Computers are available and wifi is free. Wonderful collection of books and media in a pleasant, welcoming, environment. Thank you to the friendly and helpful staff. So grateful for the Alexandrian. Not to mention the park! Can't imagine Mt. Vernon without it.

Amazing

The children's area has a lot of nice things, but the popup books can't be rented. If you want to check out holiday books I think they limit you to 1 or 2 at a time. Although they seem to have plenty of staff to do it, they don't call or email you if you're overdue, instead you'll receive a letter in the mail. Other libraries email notify 2 days in advance before overdue. Fines can rack up very quickly if you forget. The last fine I paid at Alexandrian Public Library was $16. I received a $2 fine a day for two child software items. I turned in my card. They've lost a patron for at least the time being. It was my fault about missing the date, but feel an email or phone call in this day of age is a better option.

This library could be much better. There's usually as many staff in the building as patrons. I've often counted 9 or 10 staff on duty. Central library in Evansville probably does 100 times the business with not much more staff on duty.
