I always stop at A whenever possible because the quality of their gas is so much better!
I recently was traveling through the Mt. Vernon area and stopped at the Shell station on I-64 to fuel up. My employer requires that I save all fuel receipts to turn in at the end of the trip. I made a bone head move and left the receipt in a pocket when I did the wash so, I called the Shell station to ask if it would be possible to get another receipt. The Asstant Manger I spoke to on the first call I made advised "yes, we can do that for you, but the manager has to do it and she has stepped out for a moment." The young lady took my contact information and said I'll give it to the manager. After two days of not hearing back from anyone I called again, reaching another young lady stating the manger was busy at the pumps, and took my contact information again and again no reply. A month later now I have called the Shell station a total of nine times sometimes my contact information has been taken other times it has not, either way no one has ever contacted me to advise they would help me with my request or not. I am writing this review as a concern that the managment of the Mt. Vernon Shell station seems to lack in the area of customer service and being responsible enough to make a simple telephone call to at least say yes we can help you or no we can not do that. This has been very disheartening and frustrating to think that this is how we manage and run our businesses of today. It seems that everything but the customer comes first now days. If you are taking the time to read this and you are heading through the Mt. Vernon Illinois area and need to stop for fuel then You may want to think twice about stopping at the Shell station and go to one of the other gas stations across the street. We can only hope that their knowledge and skills of customer service are better than those of Shell.
Okay place for a quick stop when you need gas. Bathroom was as clean as you expect for a gas station.
